Cobalt(II)nitrate, hexahydrate

Co(NO3)2 6H2O

Quality

Cobalt nitrate hexahydrate in different qualities with a purity of ca. 97% available. (Approximately 20% cobalt content).

Also available as a solution.

Description

Cobalt nitrate is the brown-red, hygroscopic salt of nitric acid formed from the cobalt cation and nitrate anion.

Cobalt(II)nitrate is prepared by dissolving cobalt, cobalt(II)oxide or cobalt(II)carbonate produced in dilute nitric acid.

Classic applications can be found e.g. in the production of high purity cobalt or colored pigments for the ceramics industry.

Our customers can be found among others in biogas production, water treatment, electroplating (coating), catalysis or battery industry.

It is an active catalyst and also an important part of the Fischer-Tropsch process in the production of synthetic fuel and / or lubricant from gas (GTL).

Cobalt nitrate is carcinogenic and mutagenic and also is suspected to be teratogenic. Is is listed in the REACH Candidate List of SVHCs.
